Additional Info

The Mission of the San Diego Bicycle Club’s Junior Program is to promote the sport of bicycle racing among the youth of San Diego County. Our goal is to help riders of various abilities to achieve their potential as bike racers. SDBC’s Junior membership is open to all riders age eighteen and under. Members are entitled to all benefits associated with club membership, and this club really supports and mentors our young riders! This team is home to National Champions, Natalie Wang (Junior Road) and Erie Chen (Junior CX and Criterium). Our organized efforts are oriented towards developing a racing team that competes at USAC races through out Southern California. You will often see us at the San Diego, Encino, and Carson Velodromes and also, the Fiesta Island Time Trials. Every year we have team members who compete at the national level and we have had many medal recipients at California State Championship events. We’ve also had several junior winners of the SoCal cup competitions.

In the USA, competitive cycling has been on the decline in recent years. We believe one possible solution to this problem is for kids who already love to ride their bikes to adopt cycling as a life sport and for them to become competitive. Therefore, we’re here to encourage and provide resources to young riders who may be interested in getting involved in this amazing sport. It is our goal to provide a complete solution with as much information as possible to help you decide which area of cycling suits you best and to give you the info you need to get you rolling.
