Additional Info

Star Track is a free, urban youth outreach program created to teach New York City area kids the fundamentals of track cycling at Kissena Velodrome in Queens. Founded in 2004, Star Track has helped thousands of children — many from under-resourced areas of the city — discover the joys and benefits of bicycle racing and has been repeatedly designated a USA Cycling Center of Excellence. The Star Track program provides the opportunity to join a competitive cycling team, and in 2018, Star Track and Star Track Elite riders earned 14 National Championship jerseys. Star Track is funded entirely by sponsors and private contributions, and thanks to this generous support, the program is fee-free for New York City children aged 8-14.

In the USA, competitive cycling has been on the decline in recent years. We believe one possible solution to this problem is for kids who already love to ride their bikes to adopt cycling as a life sport and for them to become competitive. Therefore, we’re here to encourage and provide resources to young riders who may be interested in getting involved in this amazing sport. It is our goal to provide a complete solution with as much information as possible to help you decide which area of cycling suits you best and to give you the info you need to get you rolling.
